First day of school is Tuesday, September 3rd. School hours are 8:19AM-3:37PM. Traffic at Carl Traeger is busy. Elementary school begins at 7:45AM and Middle school begins at 8:19AM so traffic in the morning is pretty steady. Please be patient and safe and give yourself extra time in the morning. The bell to enter the school is at 8:12AM. Students are expected to be in their seat at 8:19AM.

7th Grade Zoo Field Trip - October 24: In 7th grade science our students will be working on many different units that have a focus on animals. We will work on animal adaptations, animal behaviors, and animals in ecosystems. In order to better understand these topics and build off of a common understanding our entire 7th grade will be taking a trip to the Milwaukee County Zoo. Here we will be able to see animals in their natural habitat, view behaviors and watch them interact with their environment. We will then use the zoo’s LIVE feeds to continue our learning back in the classroom. Our trip will be Thursday, October 24th. We plan to leave Traeger Middle School at 8:30 in the morning and will return around 3:20 in the afternoon. The cost of the trip and transportation is $21 per student. Students are asked to wear shoes for walking and dress appropriately for the weather. Students have the option of having Traeger pack a cold lunch or bring a cold lunch from home. Students can bring additional money to buy a snack at lunch time. We would like to avoid students buying their entire lunch as the lines get very long and we have a limited time at the zoo. Additionally there is a gift shop in which students will have about ten minutes to browse and purchase items if interested. We are excited for this opportunity to learn more in a hands-on way.
